No pictures, but . . .

 We continue to move toward the finish line.

  • Kathy has the cushions all upholstered.
  • The flooring is down.
  • The shoe moulding, and a couple of other pieces of moulding that were "waiting" are now in place. There was a lot of fancy cutting and fitting involved, but it looks pretty good.
  • I painted the entrance step with some pickup truck bed liner spray.
Still remaining:
  • Get the AC mounted in the rear window.
  • There is some touch-up paint, in and out.
  • Give everything a good clean and shine for the grand opening.
    I'll have a bunch of pictures then, maybe a video tour.

We camped in Frolic for the first time. It's officially done.

 I finally got Frolic on the road, so that means that it is basically done. Do you ever really finish with these sorts of things? Today is Monday. I got Frolic off the blocks and took it out for a ride on Saturday. I needed to burnish the new brakes and I wanted to see how it pulled. The last time it was moved was when it came here from Mt. Nebo WV. I was in the truck, but my friend who helped me out did the driving. Everything seemed good. Last night we (Kathy and I) did an overnight at Douthat State Park, a campground about 20 miles from here. We took notes on what we had forgotten, and what we need to diddle with, but basically, everything worked fine. Leaks and Assorted Problems

 Some people would say, Everything was going too well--even if it was going slowly. A streak of bad luck was bound to come."  Well, I don't believe in luck. I used to tell my runner son, before a track or cross-country meet, "Son, I don't believe in luck. Run hard." I do, however, believe and try to be guided by Solomon's wisdom. " Again I saw that under the sun the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to the intelligent, nor favor to those with knowledge, but time and chance happen to them all" ( Ecclesiastes 9:11,  ESV). If you didn't reach Solomon's final conclusion, you might say, "That looks an awful lot like luck to me." I'll leave it to you to look at the wise king's final thoughts  on the matter. Old Campers and Old Men, We Have Some Things in Common

 No pictures today: Most of what I have been doing on the little camper has been pretty repetitive and boring. I have new fraining and a new piece of interior paneling on the rear of the trailer. Most of the siding is now off. Though it is pretty clear which piece goes where, I followed the advice of Larry (Mobiltec) ( https://cannedhamtrailers.com/ ) and labeled each piece. (If you are in a project like this, do it on the inside (unfinished side) of the metal 😅). I also have done the same for windows. There is only one door, so I didn't label it. If I get to the point of not recognizing a door I figure Kathy will need to run an ad for an unfinished camper project. Siding for one of these vintage trailers is really expensive, besides that, I'm trying to save as much of the 53-year-old camper as possible, so I'm refinishing the siding that the guys in Elkhart put on it.
